Urias’ last start: what went wrong and why the Rockies came out on top
This tale is about how starting pitchers can increase the chances of winning games.
This is what led to Rockies the victory.
The Rockies were a formidable offensive year, as they had the highest OPS in by a wide margin in NL by a wide margin in OPS (.871). The Dodgers were not able to make any run against themand needed to ensure that their defense was strong in order for them to take the lead. They succeeded in at it, and they concluded the season with a batsman’s average of .266. Their starting pitcher wasn’t great and they didn’t have enough time to win.
The Rockies have been successful.
In their win 5-2 over the Dodgers, the Rockies’ offense did a great job. Leadoff batter Anthony Rizzo opened the game with an RBI double. Nolan Arenado, the baseball champion, followed that with a two-run home run in fourth. The Rockies bullpen gave up just one run in their six innings. This was a remarkable feat considering that they had to work really hard to prevent the Dodgers in the game from scoring. The Rockies defense was also excellent in the game. Tyler Chatwood, the starting pitcher, allowed only two scores and hit five in six innings. Troy Tulowitzki was a good left fielder that had several great catch-ups down the stretch. The Rockies performed well and proved that they can play every sport, and they can be victorious in any game.
The Rockies did a great job of defense
Clayton Kershaw, the starting pitcher for the Dodgers and was a star in his pitching. The Dodgers were unable to score any runs until the very end of game 2. The Rockies did their best to stay away from Kershaw’s destructive pitching and won the game 5-3. The starting shortstop Troy Tulowitzki made some fantastic actions at the second base area and center field. He was also a great player, along with defensive back-up catcher Jorge Alfaro. Coach Mike Scioscia used nearly all of his players throughout the majority games, with the exception of Chatwood. This helped to ensure that the defense was a powerful team.
Excellent bullpen within the Rockies
rotations coach Jeff Banister used several pitchers for relief during the game and they each pitched with a high level of effectiveness. Chatwood was relieved by left-handed reliever Jarad Eickhoff after he allowed three hits and two runs over four innings. Right-handed relief Alex Wood took the loss of Tulowitzki who pitched three runs and three hits over two innings. lefty relief pitcher Will Smith replaced Alfaro when he surrendered one run and two hits within one an inning. The bullpen was able hold their Dodgers off for the bulk of the game.
The Rockies played with a lot of energy
Jeff Banister, rotations coach who was a rotations coach, took a very focused method of managing the game. The focus of his coaching was getting the pitchers into position for pitching. The result was a game filled with intensity which resulted in the Rockies triumph 5-2. The starting pitcher Tyler Chatwood was particularly aggressive in his approach, only allowing two walks through six innings of work while striking out 11 batters.
What the Dodgers were able to do was very well.

Dodgers played intensely
They were full of enthusiasm all through the game for example, they struck out nine times during the seventh to record the first such streak that has occurred in Dodger history. They won 5-2 thanks to the effort.
Conclusion
The Dodgers overall offensive performance is what led to their win. Their win was not only due to their offensive performance and their defense, but it was due to the Rockies’ defense. Their bullpen was very good as was their pitching, which they did very hard. In the end overall, the Dodgers had a good season although they could have had a better season in the event that they were capable of starting the pitcher Clayton Kershaw or if they had played better defense.
