Luiz Inacio Lula Da Silva was elected to be the next president for Brazil on Sunday 28 October. This is a huge triumph, not only to da Silva, but for the people of Brazil. After years of struggling under the corrupt and oppressive government of Jair Bolsonaro the Brazilian people have finally elected a leader who truly cares for them as well as their country. Da Silva promised to protect environmental protection, enhance the economy, and eradicate corruption. He has also pledged to defend the rights of women, minorities and members of those in the LGBTQ+ community. Brazil has taken a huge leap forward and it is our hopes that da Silva can keep his promise.
