Connecting with the Past: Appreciating Ancient Theater Through Greetings Arts Calendar December

As the festive period approaches, the art world appears to be not letting up and is offering a variety of festive events for the pre-Christmas season that vary from a double art bill to art shows which are inspired by fairy tales and time-traveling fantasies. Additionally, there are traditional Pop photography, film on the post-carceral arts and historical figures that are transhistorical, lectures and exhibits about diaspora, cultural, spiritual and spiritual influences , symbolism in contemporary art, the concept of deep sea exploration, and a celebration of Black comics, and many more will be featured on December 4th, a Thursday. W nd St The street is the home to the critically acclaimed production My Barbarian. It includes You Have Been Born Poor, and Poor You Are Going to Die. The blend of rock opera, mystery play and the ancient Greek theatre tells of the cult of a religion that performs the sacrifice of a human being to maintain the existing order. In addition, Silver Minds will be presented, which utilizes traditions of Noh theater, New Wave music, and science fiction, as it tells ghost stories about environmental change and the extraction of natural resources by presenting the viewpoint of travelers who have traveled back to the past in order to see nature. On Thursday, and Fridayon December 5th and December th, respectively, visitors are welcomed to an interactive multimedia art show. This event is to celebrate the premiere of a series on FX that is based on Octavia Butler’s highly acclaimed novel. Guests will have the opportunity to journey into the past from present-day Los Angeles to th century America through an art gallery that showcases works of Black artists. Krimes is a popular artist who draws attention to his artwork. Krimes is struggling to adjust to life outside and his fear that a wrongdoing could mean an eternity of prison. This event will take place in the area of S Grand Ave. in Downtown on Friday, the 5th of December at 5:00 pm.

Mari who is in her 90s, is still able to create art. Mari is also a valuable part of Self Help Graphics. So, SHG is hosting a show of their own at their gallery in E st St., Boyle Heights, showcasing how Mari utilized color, form, and emotion as an answer to life’s difficult circumstances to make people happy. This exhibition will remain open until February 2nd and is free to the public. On December 10, from 0pm to 0pm guests will have the opportunity to view works from other SHG artists. Moreover, on Saturday, the 25th of December, an online artist talk relating to the show will occur within The Getty.

Conclusion

This Friday, December 6th at 7pm, Self Help Graphics will be exhibiting Colores de Valor, an stunning mural designed by the artist Mark Dean Veca while he was in prison. It is made up of prison bed sheets and hair gel as well as newspaper, and was made by collaborating prisoners. The goal of this exhibition is to create awareness of the difficulties facing those leaving prison. This exhibition is open to all and it’s free.
