The Secret Behind the Lady Vikings’ Success: Re-Living Moments of Deja Vu

Asia Jota scores second goal

In a season where the team has struggled to score consistently, the defense has been a rock to The Lady Vikings. They’ve only let teams to shoot greater than 30 percent from the 3-point range for four out of the nine games. They lead in the Big Sky with a.765 free throw percent.

Alaya Fitzgerald, nicknamed Lay, has been one of major reasons for the Vikings’ success from the beginning of the new season. A freshman wing averages a team-best 13.0 points per game through the last nine games after the start of the season. She also has an average of 4.6 rebounding, 1.9 steals and 1.8 assists.
